Glenda McTaggart

Senior Manager of Education Programmes,

Glenda McTaggart has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services and education sectors, in the Cayman Islands and internationally. Glenda has degrees in Business and Education and is a qualified teacher.

Glenda joined Dart in 2011 as the manager of learning and development. She currently holds the position of senior manager of education programmes within Dart’s community development team and manages Dart’s education programmes Minds Inspired and Dart Scholar.

Glenda is a STEM enthusiast and through her work with Minds Inspired, Glenda has initiated a number of STEM school-based programmes and events that include: Math Challenges, SeaPerch Underwater Robotics and FIRST Robotics.

The sun is a source of energy for living things and the energy that comes from sunshine is called solar energy. Students will learn that one form of energy can be changed into another form and how solar energy causes movement. Through a hands on learning activity, students will see how solar power can be converted to motion in this ‘buggy’ STEAM activity. The solar bug project allows students to flex their creative muscles while also learning about clean energy, motion, and vibration.

(E3):First Robotics

Hear firsthand from the National Robotics Team about their journey to the world stage of robotics this October, when they will compete in the FIRST Global Challenge in Dubai, UAE. The students qualified for nomination to the National Team following their participation in the “Rover Ruckus” FIRST Technical Challenge inter-school robotics tournament. Meet the 11 students who were chosen to represent the Cayman Islands and hear their story of designing and building the robot and upcoming trip.
